Write to [email protected] with "SimpleFlight" in the subject, or use the contact form at digitier.com. A pilot reads every message. It helps to include your device, the iOS version, the app version from Settings → About, and the airports involved.

Common questions

An airport shows no weather. Only airports with a reporting station have a METAR. The map can hide the others: Layers → "Only airports reporting weather".

The animated wind layer is missing or shows a warning. The wind model is fetched for the area on screen and the provider limits how often. Wait a minute or two, or zoom out; zoomed out, the layer uses winds-aloft stations instead.

Airport or airspace data looks out of date. FAA airport, runway, frequency and airspace data ships inside the app and is refreshed with app updates. Settings → Data shows the effective date. Always check current charts and the Chart Supplement.

The traffic pattern or runway on the map is not what the tower uses. The pattern is the standard shape for the runway the current wind favors, with left or right traffic from FAA data. Calm-wind runways, noise abatement and ATC instructions are not in the data and always take precedence.

How do I send a route to Garmin Pilot? On the plan result, tap the ••• menu and share. Garmin Pilot must be installed; the route arrives as a Garmin FPL file.

Does SimpleFlight brief me or file a flight plan? No. It is a planning aid. Get an official briefing and check NOTAMs and TFRs from official sources before every flight.

SimpleFlight Pigeon

My old flightControlRP stations did not import. The import runs once, on first launch after updating. Open Stations, tap the ••• menu and choose "Import from flightControlRP" to run it again. If the old app was deleted before the update, its data went with it.

The expected arrival looks wrong. It is an estimate from a base speed (Settings, default 1,350 YPM), the wind reported along the line and the distance left. Check the liberation time on the race and the station's coordinates; an official club distance entered on the station is used instead of the computed one.

An arrival shows a speed with a warning triangle. That speed is faster than a pigeon flies, which nearly always means the clock and the liberation time disagree by an hour. Tap the arrival on the Results tab to correct its time.

BENZING Live arrivals are not being recorded. The Shortcuts Notification automation needs iOS 27 or later; on earlier versions arrivals are recorded by hand or from a CSV. Settings → BENZING Live arrivals has the setup steps and a "Last received" section showing what the shortcut delivered. The race or training must be started in the app before the birds are clocked.

A race was started as a training, or the other way round. Open it on the Results tab and switch the type at the top.

Accounts

An account is optional and uses Sign in with Apple. It syncs your airplanes and flight plans between your devices.

Sign in or out: Settings → Account. Signing out leaves everything on the device.

Export your data: Settings → Account → Export my data.

Delete your account: Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your email, airplanes and flight plans from our servers and revokes SimpleFlight's access to your Apple Account. What is on your device stays there. If you cannot reach the app, write to us from the email on the account and we will delete it for you.
